Born and raised in South Central, Los Angeles, Malcolm Mays is a modern day renaissance man.

Known for his starring role in award-winning tv series Snowfall and Raising Kanan, Mays is also a Grammy nominated composer for his work on New York: A Love Story in collaboration with Tristan Wilds. The multi-talented artist successfully maneuvered through an often tragic cycle of gang violence and transformed his experiences into personal and professional triumph.

Known for his critically acclaimed filmmaking, directing, and acting, Mays has his eyes set on a new mission; coupling his gift of refreshing storytelling with his everlasting love for music.

Malcolm aims to create bodies of work chronicling his humble beginnings, vivid past and what’s next on his journey with ‘Street Journal Vol. 1’ where he merges his melody, smooth wordplay and cinematic storytelling background at the intersection of hip hop and R&B.
